AS LEAD WRITER & NARRATIVE DESIGNER

KeokeN Interactive just completed a successful Kickstarter campaign for their first entertainment title: "Deliver us the Moon." The demo contained a feeling of loneliness and isolation, with a gripping soundtrack and deserted locations. The tone and atmospheric goal for the game were apparent, but the story needed additional work when I joined the team in September 2016. 

In pre-production, I fleshed out the established world building ideas into a layered universe, with a believable history and characters. And I collaborated with the team to incorporate the story in both visuals and gameplay to form a plot for the player which is both engaging and coherent throughout the final experience. 

During production, I oversaw implementation and consistency of the overall narrative, and in parallel, I worked as lead writer on the voice acting script from start to finish, including voice directing during the recording sessions, and I wrote the majority in-game narrative assets.

I had the opportunity to work with the team from KeokeN interactive, over in Hoofddorp the Netherlands, for one and a half years. During this, I saw the game grow from a small post-Kickstarter project to a serious presence on the future market. Responsibilities and stakes increased with the duration of production, but the team learned to go with drastic change and pressure. None-the-less it was a great experience to push my personal and professional level, and I look forward to working with the team again, in the future.

Story Summary

"Deliver us the Moon" is a narrative driven adventure taking place --as the name says-- on the Moon, in the near future. A lone astronaut returns to the abandoned lunar colony, years after it's collapse. The colony was created by the WSA (World Space Agency) to supply the resource starving Earth with alternative energy. Since the Moon went dark, mankind is scavenging for the last remaining resources. The player will explore the abandoned Moon facilities to look for a way to save the dying home planet, while searching for the reason for the colony to fall, all those years ago.
